If you would like to qualify with us we have two examiners who can test and qualify you for the BMFA “BPC”, “A” and “B” fixed wing certificates. If you would like to qualify for other types of aircraft we will be able to help getting in touch with an appropriate examiner.

Before taking any BMFA test you will be required to show a current BMFA Registration of Competency, not the CAA DMARES, or answer five mandatory question from the 20 mandatory question list. It is recommended that you take the BMFA Registration of Competency before taking the flying test with our examiners.
BMFA Registration of Competency training and the test can be found on their web site at https://rcc.bmfa.uk/

The difference between BPC and A certification is as follows:

  • If the candidate presents with a model that is not capable of taking off from the ground they will take the BPC
  • If the candidate presents with a model that is under 1kg, they will take a BPC, (irrespective of whether it has electronic stabilisation or not).
  • If they present with a model with electronic stabilisation, they will take a BPC (irrespective of mass).
  • If they present with a model without electronic stabilisation, which is over 1kg and capable of taking off from the ground, they will take an ‘A’ test.

The B certification is more advanced and includes aerobatics.
