We would be very happy if you chose to join our club and would recommend you visiting us at our flying site for informal chats and flying with either your own models or by arranging a trial flight with the club trainer aircraft.
Visitors can fly with us up to three times a year without being a member.

Another advantage is that we are allowed to fly under CAA Article 16 allowing us more flexibility when flying.
As our club is affiliated with BMFA we also get club cover.

Civil Aviation Authority (CAA)
There is a legal requirement to register with the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) for an Operator ID, details are available on the CAA Web site
To fly an aircraft unaccompanied you will also have to obtain a Flyer ID for which a Certificate of Competency is required.
The BMFA provide training material and we recommend taking the test through BMFA.
The test comprises of approximately 40 multi choice questions, testing your knowledge of the legal aspects of flying which are mostly safety common sense questions.
If you are unsure or need any help before taking the test please ask us.
After obtaining your Certificate of Competency we recommend registering with the CAA via the BMFA JustGo portal which, as a BMFA member you will have access.
      CAA Operator ID registration £11.79
