How to Change to Three Position Flaps with Slow movement and Voice Feedback on EdgeTX Companion

Start

  • Double Click the Model you wish to change

The Model Configuration Window will appear with the Setup tab selected

Start

  • Select the Mixes Tap
  • Ch6 has two line, the second starting with +=, Right Click on it and Select Delete
  • Double Click on the remaining CH6 line to Open the Lines configuration window

Flaps Up change to Three Position Switch and Slow movement

  • Change Switch to SB↑
  • The bottom section of the Window has Precision, Up and Down but has Two Columns Delay and Slow
  • Change Up column Slow  to 2.5 (2.5 seconds)
  • Change Down column Slow to 2.5 (2.5 seconds)
  • Select OK to close the window

Flaps Midpoint  and Slow movement

  • On CH6 line, Right Click, select Copy
  • On CH6 line, Right Click, select Paste, an identical line starting with += appears below CH6
  • Repeat the above on CH6
    • On CH6 line, Right Click, select Copy
    • On CH6 line, Right Click, select Paste, an second identical line starting with += appears below CH6
  • There should be two additional identical lines below CH6 starting with +=
  • Select the line below CH6, Double Click to open the window
  • Change Weight Source to Zero (Note: this is the Midpoint, number between -100 and  100 can give different Mid Flap position)
  • Change Switch to SB-
  • Select OK to close the window

Flaps Down and Slow movement

  • Select the Last line below CH6, Double Click to open the window
  • Change Weight Source to -100
  • Change Switch to SB↓
  • Select OK to close the window

Add Voice Feedback

  • Select the Special Functions Tap
  • On the next blank Special Function change Switch to SB↑
  • Change Action to Play Track (Press letter p twice for quicker access)
  • Change Parameter to Flapup (Press f quicker access)
  • On the next blank Special Function change Switch to SB-
  • Change Action to Play Track (Press letter p twice for quicker access)
  • Change Parameter to Flapmd (Press f quicker access)
  • On the next blank Special Function change Switch to SB↓
  • Change Action to Play Track (Press letter p twice for quicker access)
  • Change Parameter to Flapdn (Press f quicker access)

Write the Configuration back to the Transmitter

  • If the Transmitter is no longer connected to the computer, reconnect it 
    • While holding the Rudder and Aileron trims toward each other, Power On the Transmitter
    • Connect a USB cable between the Transmitter and PC
  • Select Write Models and Setting to Radio (Top of left tool bar)
  • Disconnect the Transmitter

With the Transmitter on and the Model selected, move switch SB away from you, the Transmitter will say Flaps up and the Flaps will move Up, move SB to the Centre position the transmitter will say Flaps Middle and the Flaps will move to the Mid point, move SB Towards you the transmitter will say Flaps Down and the Flaps will move to the Down position.
