How to Create a Model on EdgeTX Companion

These instruction show you how to create a Model on a PC using EdgeTX Companion.
We will create a Model with the following configuration::

  • Fixed Wing Aircraft with an Engine, and Safety Switch
  • Ailerons connected with a Y lead to one receiver port
  • Flaps connected with a Y lead to one receiver port
  • Elevator connected to one receiver port
  • Rudder connected to one receiver port
  • Landing gear connected to one receiver port
  • Exponential of 30%
  • Dual Rates

The following options are based on Mode 2, RETA
All options can be changed by pressing the Scroll Wheel then changing them.

Start

  • Start EdgeTX Companion on your PC
  • Read your transmitters configuration
    • While holding the Rudder and Aileron trims toward each other, Power On the Transmitter
    • Connect a USB cable between the Transmitter and PC
    • In EdgeTX Companion select Read Models and Setting from Radio (Second Icon down on Left toolbar)
    • A window will open with all Configurations and Models from the Transmitter
    • Save it, Select File, then Save, enter a Name for the saved file

Create a Model

  • Select the + Model icon top left of window
  • Enter the Models Name
  • Select Plane, press Next
  • Select Throttle Yes and Channel Channel 3, press Next
  • Select Standard Wing, press Next
  • Select Ailerons Yes, controlled by a single channel, and Channel 4, press Next
  • Select Flaps Yes, controlled by a single channel, and Channel 5, press Next
  • Select Airbreaks No, press Next
  • Select Elevator and Rudder Standard, press Next
  • Select Rudder Channel 1, Elevator Channel Channel 2, press Next
  • Select Throttle Cut and Throttle Timer, press Next

The configuration will be displayed

    • Model Name: #####
    • Model Type: Plane
    • Options: [-XX]
    • Channel 1: [RUD, 100]
    • Channel 2: [ELE, 100]
    • Channel 3: THR, 100]
    • Channel 4: [AIL, 100]
    • Channel 6: [FLP, 100]

If you want to change anything use the Back< or Next> buttons

  • Tick OK I understand, press Finish

The Model will be Created

Write the Model and Setting back to the transmitter

  • Select Write Models and Setting to Radio (Top of left tool bar)

The Model has been created but missing some configurations
