How to Create a Model on Radiomaster TX16s

These instruction show you how to create a Model on a Radiomaster TX16s with the Wizard LUA script.
We will create a Model with the following configuration::

  • Fixed Wing Aircraft with an Engine, and Safety Switch
  • Ailerons connected with a Y lead to one receiver port
  • Flaps connected with a Y lead to one receiver port
  • Elevator connected to one receiver port
  • Rudder connected to one receiver port
  • Landing gear connected to one receiver port
  • Exponential of 30%
  • Dual Rates

The following options are based on Mode 2, RETA
All options can be changed by pressing the Scroll Wheel then changing them.

Start

  • Power on the Transmitter
  • Long press MDL button
  • Press New, top right of screen
  • Select New Model
  • Select 1. Wizard
  • Select 1. Plane

Model Settings

  • Have a motor: Yes
  • Motor: Ch3
  • Safety Switch: Yes –> I strongly recommend you leave this as Yes
  • Switch: SF
  • Press Page> button or PageDN on right of screen

Aileron setup

  • Number of ailerons on you model
  • Press the Scroll Wheel, change to One (or two with a Y lead), press the Scroll Wheel again
  • A Ch4
  • Press Page> button or PageDN on right of screen

Flaps

  • Does your model have flaps
  • Press the Scroll Wheel, change to Yes, on one channel, press the Scroll Wheel again

Note: the Flap switch defaults to SA with 3 positions, Up, Half, Down

  • Scroll to the channel number, press the Scroll Wheel, change to Ch6, press the Scroll Wheel
  • Press Page> button or PageDN on right of screen

Tail Configuration

  • Pick the Tail configuration
  • One channel for Elevator, One for Rudder
  • A Ch2 – Elevator
  • B Ch1 – Rudder
  • Press Page> button or PageDN on right of screen

Landing Gear

  • Does your model have retract landing gear
  • Press the Scroll Wheel, select Yes, press the Scroll Wheel
  • Scroll to Retract Switch, press the Scroll Wheel, select SG, press the Scroll Wheel

Note: The switch has 3 positions, Up, Half, Down, we will change this later

  • Retract Channel, press the Scroll Wheel, select CH5, press the Scroll Wheel
  • Press Page> button or PageDN on right of screen

Additional Settings

  • Expo 30
  • Dual Rate Yes
  • Scroll to Switch, press the Scroll Wheel, select SE, press the Scroll Wheel
  • Press Page> button or PageDN on right of screen

The configuration summary will be displayed

  • Motor channel: CH3
  • Aileron channel: CH4
  • Flap channel: CH6 (SA)
  • Elevator channel: Ch2
  • Rudder channel: CH1
  • Gear switch: SG
  • Gear Channel: CH5
  • Dual Rate: Yes (SE)
  • Expo: 30
  • Arm: SF

If you want to change anything use the Page< or Page> icon on the left of the screen

  • Press and Hold the Scroll Button to create the model with those settings.

Model successfully created will be displayed

  • Press and Hold RTN to exit the Wizard

The Aircraft Name is New Plane, to change:

  • Press the MDL button.
  • Press the Scroll Wheel
  • Use the On-screen Keyboard to change the Aircraft Name
  • Press RTN twice to Exit
