How to Create a Model on Radiomaster Boxer

These instruction show you how to create a Model on a Radiomaster Boxer with the Wizard LUA script.

We will create a Model with the following configuration::

  • Fixed Wing Aircraft with an Engine, and Safety Switch
  • Ailerons connected with a Y lead to one receiver port
  • Flaps connected with a Y lead to one receiver port
  • Elevator connected to one receiver port
  • Rudder connected to one receiver port
  • Landing gear connected to one receiver port
  • Exponential of 30%
  • Dual Rates

The following options are based on Mode 2, RETA

All options can be changed by pressing the Scroll Wheel then changing them.

Start

  • Power on the Transmitter
  • Press MDL button
  • Scroll down to an empty slot, press the Scroll Wheel
  • Select Create Model, press the Scroll Wheel

The model line will have an * at the beginning showing it is selected but no Model Name is displayed

  • Press RTN

A generic model name will be displayed.

Note: If you do not do the above the following instructions will overwrite the configuration of the model selected

Run the Create Model Wizard

  • Press the SYS button, the TOOLS list will appear.
  • Scroll down to select the Wizard Loader, press the Scroll Wheel
  • Select Plane, press the Scroll Wheel

Model Settings

  • Got an Engine?
  • Select Yes
  • Assign channel
  • >>> CH3
  • Press the PAGE> button

Note: We will set an Engine Safety Switch later

Aileron Setup

  • Got Ailerons?
  • Select Yes, 1 channel
  • Assign channel
  • >>> CH4
  • Press PAGE> button

Flaps

  • Got flaps?, press the Scroll wheel
  • Select Yes, 1 channel, press the Scroll wheel
  • Scroll to the Channel number, press the Scroll Wheel
  • Change to Ch6, press the Scroll Wheel
  • Press the PAGE> button

The switch default to Switch SA, a two position switch, we will change it to SB, three position later

Air Breaks

  • Got Air Breaks
  • Select No
  • Press the PAGE> button

Tail configuration

  • Select Ele(1) + Rudder(1)
  • Assign Channels
  • Ele: Ch2
  • Rud: CH1
  • Press the PAGE> button

Landing Gear

We’ll set landing gear up later

Additional Settings

We’ll set Exponential, and Dual Rates later

Ready to Go

The configuration summary will be displayed

  • Motor Channel: CH3
  • Aileron channel: CH4
  • Flap channel: CH6
  • Rudder channel: CH1
  • Elevator channel: CH2

If you want to change anything use the Page< to go to previous pages

  • Press and Hold the Scroll Button to create the model with those settings.
  • The TOOLS menu will be displayed with Wizard Loader highlighted
  • Press RTN twice to exit

The Aircraft Name will be Model followed by the line number, To change:

  • Press the MDL button
  • The new model will be selected
  • Press the Page> button
  • The Model Name will be highlighted
  • Press the Scroll Wheel
  • Rotate the Scroll Wheel for the desired letter
  • Press the Scroll Wheel for the next letter
  • Repeat for your model name, up to 10 characters
  • Press RTN when finished
  • Press RTN again to exit
