How to Check the Engine Safety Switch Position at Model Select and add Voice Feedback on EdgeTX Companion

These instruction show you how to check the Engine Safety Switch position at Model select and add Voice Feedback on a EdgeTX Companion

Start

  • Double Click the Model you wish to change

The Model Configuration Window will appear with the Setup tab selected

Change Safety Switch Warning Position

  • TX16s – In the Warnings section move  SF:Arm slider Down

Move the Arm/Disarm function

  • Select the Mixes tab
  • Select the line immediately below CH3  (:= MAX Weight (-100) Switch (SF: ARM↑) CUT), Right Click, Select Delete
  • Select Special Functions Tab
    • TX16s – On the First empty line change the Switch to SF:Arm↓
    • Boxer -On the First empty line change the Switch to SE↑
  • Change Action to Override CH3
  • Change Parameter to -100

Add Voice Feedback

    • TX16s – On the next empty line change the Switch to SF:Arm↓
    • Boxer – On the next empty line change the Switch to SE↑
  • Change Action to Play Track (press p twice for quicker selection)
  • Change Parameter to Thrcut (press t then scroll down for quicker selection)
    • TX16s – On the next empty line change the Switch to SF:Arm↑
    • Boxer – On the next empty line change the Switch to SE↓
  • Change Action to Play Track (press p twice for quicker selection)
  • Change Parameter to Thract (press t then scroll down for quicker selection)
  • Close the Model configuration Window

Write the Configuration back to the Transmitter

  • If the Transmitter is no longer connected to the computer, reconnect it 
    • While holding the Rudder and Aileron trims toward each other, Power On the Transmitter
    • Connect a USB cable between the Transmitter and PC
  • Select Write Models and Setting to Radio (Top of left tool bar)
  • Disconnect the Transmitter

With the Transmitter on and the Model selected

TX16s – pushing switch SF Down, the transmitter will say Throttle Active, the throttle will work, pulling SF Up, the Transmitter will say Throttle Cut, the throttle will be disabled

Boxer – pushing switch SE In, the transmitter will say Throttle Active, the throttle will work, releasing SE (Out), the Transmitter will say Throttle Cut, the throttle will be disabled
