Club members can fly any day of the week 365 days of the year at Ty Draw Farm however weather and ground conditions sometime restrict our ability to fly. Members must also consider the local community if flying noisy models.

Club members can fly from Trelai Park, by agreement with Cardiff City Council, any Sunday morning during the year and Thursday evenings during the summer. Anyone flying at Trelai Park outside these days/times will not be flying as Cardiff Model Aircraft Club members.

Flying model aircraft is very weather dependent, it has to be dry and ideally with winds less than 15 mph though some pilots with appropriate models and skills do fly at higher wind speeds.

Wind direction is not to much of a problem but certain directions, such as from the east at Ty Draw farm, turbulence from the trees adjacent to the airfield affects the models making it slightly more of a challenge taking off and landing.

Check out the weather condition at the Met Office to see if it’s suitable to fly.

We normally fly weekends when the weather is good and sometimes during the week.
